I had a baby dream the other night. I had just gone into labor, I was already at the hospital, I couldn't find Bryan, I was absolutely petrified of giving birth - I think I suggested to a nurse that we "just leave it in" for a while. And somehow I knew it was a boy.
We recently decided that the boy's name we had picked out for the first boy was no longer a contender (no skin off my nose - I agreed to it because Bryan really liked it - I was never really too crazy about it). So in the dream I was also freaking out, running hurriedly waddling through the hospital, trying to find Bryan, saying nothing but "we don't have a name! We don't have a name!"
So if you lump this dream together with my first baby dream (a few years ago), in which I had a boy, and Bryan's baby dream last week - where we also had a boy... I think when it finally happens, I'll probably be buying little blue things.
The "we don't have a name" thing may also have had something to do with the fact that I've been watching Murphy Brown lately (DVRd from Nick at Nite), and they're at the point in the series where she's just had the baby - as anyone who watched the series knows, it took her a good long time to name him.
Ladies and Gentlemen... the highlight of my Monday night:

I don't watch the show, but I have a few friends who do. So... I have no idea what this means, but you might.

I started a 401(k) last week. It's about damn time. My mom thinks I should have waited until Bryan and I bought a house, seeing as we currently have very little saved toward a down payment, but the way I look at it is this: no matter when we're able to buy a house, we'll want to retire sometime.
Plus, I think no matter whether or not she'll come right out and say it, mom wants to be a grandma soon, and Bryan and I have always said "mortgage before baby." I think she's disappointed that we've taken a step that might delay her eventual grandmotherhood. ;)
In response to the age old question "when will you two have a baby?," Bryan and I have been saying "it'll a couple of years" since just before we got married.
We've been married for over three.

None of this really surprises me - I have an awesome husband, an amazing support network of friends, my finances aren't always perfect, and I go back and forth on the depression thing. I'd say this one is not too far off.
Compared with the average of all the people who have taken the quiz, I'm below average in mind, body and finances. Not a shock. I'm above average in spirit, family/friends and love. Also not a shock. Next time I'm feeling sorry for myself, I'll try to keep this in mind, and hopefully my strengths will help me to overcome my weaknesses.
I can sum up my trip to NY in five words: It's good to be home.
Not that I don't enjoy seeing my family, but this trip was particularly draining, emotionally speaking.
With the exception of my best friend from college, whose wedding I was in last year (which was my previous trip to NY - August 2004), it was all family family family mom mom mom (Renee, I left you a message and you didn't call me back, so I figured you were busy). Dad is a grumpyass, mom is unhappy, both the remaining kitty and grandma looked old and frail, and I'm hoping I make it to next Christmas without having to go out again (i.e., hoping there's no funeral before then - grandma really doesn't look good).
There were some good points though:
And, it only took 7+ years, but I truly feel that Wisconsin is now my home. Or... let me rephrase that - wherever Bryan is is my home. I felt well and truly out of place waiting for my flight at LGA, but the biggest sense of relief washed over me when I stepped into the terminal at MKE - walking through the terminal to meet Bryan, I was calm, content and truly felt "aaaahhhh, I'm home."
I think every town needs one of these:
They don't have a physical brick-and-mortar location, just vans equipped with refrigerators and pizza ovens. You place your order online or over the phone (first soda is free when you order online, because receiving orders online is easier for them), choose your cooking option (traditional GBD, darker than most or lighter & doughier than most) and voila! Fresh hot pizza at your door in about 15 minutes - and it's pretty darn tasty, too!
