Fits perfectly in one of these:

Jussayin.
Okay, well... I highly suggest, anyway...
March of the Penguins. Go see it. It's fabulous.
That is all.
Inspired/Reminded by Renee's comment on my previous post, I have to kvetch about my 10-year high school reunion.
First of all, it's a year late.
Second of all, it's $97.00 a person.
Even if I still lived in NY, I'm not sure I'd attend - I mean, come on... a hundred bucks to see a bunch of people I really didn't like? Sure, there were people I liked in high school - most of them were in the class below me and the class below that. I could probably count the number of people in my class that I liked on both hands. If they had decided to have a joint reunion with the class behind mine, I might be more inclined to go. As it is, I keep in touch with a whopping TWO people from my senior class, and only sporadically at best.
It's funny, I ran into someone I graduated with at the airport in Milwaukee and it turns out she lives about an hour from me - and she's on the list of people they can't find.
Oh, and that's another thing... have they not heard of Google? There are people on the list of people they can't find that they'd find in about 30 seconds if they'd type a name into Google and do even the tiniest bit of research. Argh.
There's a reason they called the local community college "Floyd U."
Tomorrow's the deadline to get your payment in to be included in the directory - I totally forgot about it. I guess I'm not getting one, and I guess I won't be in it, LOL. Ah, well... there are enough people who know how to find me. Not that I wouldn't be easy enough to find - it's not as if my parents don't live in the same house or anything. ;)
I've had an interesting day, the highlight of which was making quite the spectacle of myself at work - on the first day of week four.
I've put the events in the extended entry so the squeamish do not accidentally see it (it involves blood).
Okay...
After a couple of hours at work this morning (found out I passed the exam with flying colors - yay), we got out for first break. Headed to the ladies' room and promptly got a nosebleed. Not a drip drip drip kinda thing, a fairly steady stream. This has happened a few times before, once in 1992 and again in 1999. Even after explaining to my trainer that I have to just let it run its course, hold my nose and blow out the resulting clot every 2 minutes or so, after about 10 minutes she got pretty freaked out and called 911. Nosebleed stopped just before the paramedics got there, but when I tried to stand up I was pretty lightheaded.
Got strapped on to a stretcher and taken to the hospital. Guess that's what happens when you have a busy week and forget to take your BP meds, huh? I've probably taken my pill once in the last 7 days, while smoking a LOT (I'm a social smoker) and eating garbage for the past few days - dumb, dumb, dumb. My official diagnosis was "non-compliance with medication."
I'm better now, but I think I scared a lot of people. What a way to start a new job, huh?
The original site was taken offline a looong time ago, but I was just reminded of the site that popped up to replace it...

Yes, this entry is dated July 3rd - I tried to post this last weekend, but couldn't. Today is actually July 11th and I'm just getting around to logging back in now. It's been a busy week. A little late, but what the heck?

And I lied - I do have a bit of food pr0n this weekend, though I didn't make it. Here is Bryan's take on the muffaletta (but no olive salad, so not a true muff, just a really big sammich - roast beef, turkey, ham, salami, cheddar, provolone, onions, tomatoes, homemade vinaigrette and homemade bread). The final product was probably about 8" x 11" x 3-4" deep. He used a greased brownie pan to mold the bread dough before turning it out on a half-sheet cookie sheet lined with an Exopat mat.

Happy 4th!
No food pr0n this week, for a couple of reasons:
~We were too busy yesterday getting ready to go to see the fireworks, so no time for the farmer's market or the yumminess that usually follows
~That wicked ear infection I had in January has reared its ugly head again, only in the other ear. I can't chew without it hurting, so I'll not be making yummy beautiful food that I can't eat.
I'll probably post some pictures of the fireworks in its place, if any of the 70 I took are nice enough for posting. But for now, I'll just take my vicodin and go to bed.
On the same day that Justice O'Connor announced her retirement, thus opening the door for Our Fearless Leader ('scuse me while I puke) to stack the deck in favor of the radical right, I read about this:
Wiccans Ordered to Not Expose Son to Beliefs
I'm disgusted and appalled. And scared.
SPd from Sherri, who got it from Erica.

*looks at the current world's population* You must have a lot of frustration then.
What pisses you off?
