I know we all hate those people who come to work sick, thereby running the risk of infecting everyone else. However, I was one of those people today, with very good reason.
Next time you want to bash someone for coming into work sick, ask them if they actually have any sick time left. Because believe me, if I worked for a company that gave me more than 39.26 hours of sick time a year, and didn't write you up for calling in sick when you don't have any sick time, my ass would have been home in bed today, instead of sitting at my desk, trying to talk to customers but sounding more like I was quacking at them, putting people on mute to sneeze or blow my nose, using AN ENTIRE BOX OF TISSUES IN ONE DAY.
Yes, I'm bringing a giant can of Lysol in tomorrow so I can properly disinfect my desk (which should be quarantined by now).
If the sickie person has a gajillion sick hours saved up, please feel free to scoff when they come in. But I can't risk of getting fired, no matter how many gallons of mucus want to come pouring out of my nose.

At my job a few years back (when the flu epidemic was going around), my mananger sent out an email saying that if we were sick to please stay home.
Of course, we get time each month, i think It is a day and half a month. So there is never an excuse. Although a few years back, we were doing an upgrade & a person came to work sick & I got it. We had to work the weekend & I was so sick on antibodics that they sent me home.
Feel better!
