I had such a good time last night!
Bryan and I both post on the Good Eats Fan Page message board, and we met some of our fellow "briners" in Chicago for dinner last night.
We went to Leona's, where I had the steak and romano chicken entree, which came with two sides - I chose fettucine alfredo and fried calamari. Holy cow, so much food!!! The fettucine side itself would have been more than enough for dinner. I ate the steak and chicken, and the sides came home. The two Long Islands I had (at $6.50 a pop!) were yummy as well. At one point, our waiter came out with a crown on his head - so of course the next time we needed to get his attention, Bryan shouted out "your Majesty!" and he turned around as if that were his actual name.
As I posted on the board this morning, it was well worth the 6-hour round trip (well, I slept for about half of the return trip, so I guess I should say that it was worth the stiff neck I got from sleeping in the car). Good food, good fun and great conversation were had by all.
This definitely has to happen again.
