I think we all know what it means to ASSume

Coworker: "So, is this wedding in NYC?"
Me: "No, it's on Long Island."
Coworker: "Oh, high-falutin'!"
Me: "Why do you say that?"
Coworker: "Well, you said Long Island."

I canNOT possibly explain how frustrated I am by stereotypes like this. Yes, Long Island is expensive. Yes, there are areas of Long Island that are high-falutin'. Yes, the wedding is actually in a high-falutin' area of the Island.

BUT... NOT ALL OF LONG ISLAND IS HIGH-FALUTIN'!!!!!!
