I was going to put this in my previous post, but I wanted to separate it. I REALLY hope the pictures I took last night come out. There were no less than 25 presents under my tree, the most there will ever be again, until DH and I spawn (or at least until we host another Secret Santa exchange). I think my tree is especially gorgeous this year. The only pics we have of last year's tree were taken before we were finished decorating it, and have about half the ornaments and none of the tinsel of our finished product).
If the pictures turn out, there will also be one of me showing off my very first cheesecake (the first one I've ever made). I'm really proud of it. Now, I love to cook, and I'm an especially good baker (if I do say so myself), but for some reason, cheesecake has ALWAYS intimidated me. I'm not much of a cheesecake person myself, but this one was really good. Even Val liked absolutely loved it, and she told me that she is incredibly picky about cheesecake.
I wonder if I can substitute Splenda for the sugar, so I can make one for my mom and sister (both diabetic). Maybe I'll bring my springform pan to NY and have my mom pick up some cream cheese...
